Mr. Wang Tongzhou, Chairman of CNMC met H.E. Luis Schmidt, Ambassador of Chile to China  at CNMC headquarters on 3rd December where a wide range of consensus had been reached between the two parties in terms of mining resources and other sectors.

During the talks, Chairman Wang Haozhou extended a warm welcome to Ambassador Schmidt’s visit, congratulated Ambassador Schmidt on his re-election, and expressed appreciationto Ambassador Schmidt for his support of the development of China Nonferrous Metals Group . also many thanks to Mr. Procuric, the Minister of the Ministry of Mines of Chile during 218Asian Copper held in Shanghai. Chairman Wang introduced how China Nonferrous Metals Group respond to going global strategy and implement the Belt and Road initiative. He said that in recent years, China-Chile exchanges of high-level visits and exchanges and cooperation in various fields have become increasingly close and fruitful, and the friendship between the two peoples has increased. As the earliest going global enterprise in China's non-ferrous metal industry, CNMC has always regarded international business as an important strategic development direction, adhered to the principle of green sustainable development, complied with local laws and regulations of the project countries, and actively fulfilled its social responsibilities and integration into the local area. The society has made positive contributions to local economic and social development. He said that Chile is rich in mineral resources and is the country with the largest copper reserves and copper production in the world. China Nonferrous Metals Group has a complete copper industry chain and rich experience in international cooperation. The two sides have extensive cooperation areas and bright prospects. It is hoped that with the care and support of Ambassador Schmidt and the Chinese and Chilean governments, the Belt and Road initiative will be implemented and the community of a shared future for mankind will be actively built to further strengthen the communication and docking with relevant parties in Chile, and the development and utilization of non-ferrous metals resources in Chile. In-depth and pragmatic cooperation in international engineering contracting and international trade, to achieve win-win cooperation and make positive contributions to the continuous deepening of the traditional friendship between China and Chile.

Ambassador Schmidt said that Chile-China relations are solid and strong. China is Chile's largest trading partner and a major source of investment. Chile is willing to work closely with China and continue to deepen cooperation in mineral resources, trade and investment, infrastructure construction, science and technology and jointly respond to the Road and Belt initiative. He said that while Chile is an important mining country in the world and rich in mineral resources, CNMC is a well-known international large-scale mining group. It enjoys a high reputation in the field of non-ferrous metal mineral resources development. It has rich experience in international cooperation and distinctive professional and technological advantages. Hence, we have much to offer each other. It is hoped that such a strong and responsible international enterprise group like China Nonferrous Metals Group will carry out extensive and in-depth pragmatic cooperation in various fields. The Chilean Embassy in China will fully support the cooperation between China Nonferrous Metals Group and Chile, achieve win-win cooperation and jointly build a model of cooperation between Chile and China.
